Hi, I'm Trish, (that's Dave next to me)  and When We Wander is a site devoted to documenting  adventures and experiences that we never want to forget, teamed with a little bit of what you may find useful information - for example campsite and hotel reviews, tips and tricks for camping beginners, not to miss beauty spots, tips for camping with dogs (and, yes it shares the same name as our dog - Wander the Beagle).

Wear We Wander is our 'shop' which has prints, cards, camping mugs, and coming soon apparel - plus lots more exciting travel related items are on the horizon so watch this space!

MORE
KASPROWY WIERCH, ZAKOPANE, POLAND.
SO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE?

Ok, If you have a poke around the site you'll see that it is split into three sections.

When We Wander is the 'blog' side of the site and it's where you'll find photos, recommendations, tips & tricks etc.
(After all - I'm quite an over-thinker, over-planner, over organised person who all ways thinks the worst is going to happen due to my mild anxiety issues, so who's better to write a true, gritty blog about their experiences! (for example how many toilet stops are on the 5 hour coach trip!))

It's devided into it's own three sections - Adventures Abroad, Camping with Wander and The Greenest of Grasses
each section sits very close to my heart and you can read more about each of them below.

Disclaimer: I wanted this site/blog to be 'real' no instagram fakery or planned out 'shoots' - to show that you can work and travel.

Keep Your Feet is focusing on mental health, well being and organisation, especially during the covid19 lock down

Wear We Wander is a side project where more information will be available soon, so watch this space!

Ever since being at school/college I've dreamt of traveling to see the world.
But I've also always been very career driven.

So straight after school I went to college, then university, and then landed my dream job in London as a Graphic Designer.
After a year I realised London wasn't for me and moved back home to Derbyshire.
I had a messy few years finding my feet again (working 3 jobs at one time to get by at one point!) but it all worked out as I now have the best job in the world, working for a company that truly respects you, and looks after you.
And because of this – I've never really had the opportunity/been brave enough to 'up, leave' and 'travel' like I've always wanted to, so instead, I try to make the most of the weekends and holiday allowances!

And back in 2014 I had a trip to New Zealand that completely re-fuelled my traveling desire!
It was a trip of a life time!
It taught me that I am in control of my life, and my happiness.
It built up my confidence and my independence,
and gave me a real taste for 'adventure!' again
(You can read all about here if you'd like)

Since New Zealand, I've been trying to ensure I get away and tick off another destination each year!
Unfortunately this works out more expensive, but I feel this way, I'm getting the best of both worlds.

And the Adventures abroad section of this site will collect and house all of my memories from the various destinations that I have managed to tick off so far.

I met my partner Dave a few months after my first trip to New Zealand. In May 2017 we bought Urvan - our first Campervan!
Then later that year, we had our first fury baby (Wander the Beagle, not just a hairy child) who we now take with us whenever possible.
(which is another reason why we only go abroad once a year)

Dave and I have both been caravaning/tenting since we kids.
(I was even in the scouts! - yes a girl was in the scouts in the 90's!)
So a Campervan with a dog was totally new territory for us! And we seem to be the youngest everywhere we go,
so we thought we'd start a blog to try and encourage more younger generations to give it a go! As well as sharing what tips we've learnt camping with a beagle! Hence - the Camping with Wander section of this site.

(you can follow Wanders adventures on instagram: @wanderthebeagle)

The UK is an absolutely gorgeous place to live (minus the politics and rain!)
but it's very easy to take what we're used to for granted.
So sometimes, yes, I wish we could emigrate or travel the world full time, seeing something new everyday
– never having to work again! You know, like how everyone else lives on instagram??

But the reality of it is, when I stop and actually think about it. I love my life and I love where I live.

So this section of the site is to share a few places/moments that make me grateful to live in such a beautiful country.

You may of spotted on the first home page, that there is another side to this site also, called Wear We Wander
There may be a clue in the name - but this is the 'shop' part of our site. Currently housing mugs, bags, stickers etc and apparel will be coming soon! So watch this space!

As mentioned in the 'about us' bit I suffer from overthinking and mild anxieties. Keep your feet – is a side project showing and sharing what I do to learn, cope and understand my mental health and well being.
