Over the last decade, the internet has made it very easy to see and explore how other people live, and this in turn has an effect on how we see our own lives.

I for example am constantly scrolling through instagram, wishing I was traveling the world in my van, seeing something new everyday –  never having to work again! 

But the reality of it is, when I stop and actually think about it. I love my life and I love where I live and that's one of the reasons why I started When We Wander - and more specifically, this section of the site - to show and share just how special the UK is...

Ok we don't have the tallest of Mountains, the driest of deserts, the thickest of rainforests, frozen lakes or volcanoes –  but we do have smaller mountains, beautiful deep lakes, woods and waterfalls as well as history, myths, legends and magic! You just have to know where to look - and that's where we come in!
